Most people like to travel. We have a beautiful planet that it was worth it to see and experience as many places as time and money could help. You may have traveled to some cities in your country, but until you have tried international travel, you have not seen anything yet.
What makes international travel so exciting? Probably, it is exploring a completely different and unknown land, tasting in a unique and extremely rare for the kitchen, or to meet people from a different culture. We have seen and heard stories from different continents, and it is human craving for the beauty and diversity beyond what we have known all our lives.
Whether you are a first timer or a seasoned traveler, you need some tips to make sure you plan your trip, and to eliminate as far as possible the stress. Here’s back and tried not to do before taking that international travel:
* Plan early – book your flight, hotel and at least 2 months prior to the date of your trip. This will not only set many options at your feet, but also save you the desire to simply take what is available because flights and hotels are sold out. This will also allow you to check your passport and visa to ensure they are not yet expired.
* Research! Search! And more research – it is important to know the ins and outs of the country where you are traveling. Go online and check at least 10 Web sites to be immersed in their culture and understand how a tourist like you must act within their country. Maybe there are some streets laws that you must follow, there are some areas you should avoid, or certain actions you must refrain from doing so.
* Pack light – in most cases, you bring home with you some memories of the country you are visiting. Do not fill your bags to the brim! Leave the place for your shopping, so you can avoid making another bag full. In addition, stay within the maximum weight and size limits for registered in the hand and carrying luggage to avoid paying additional fees. Know what items are prohibited, and not insist on bringing them with you. Remember that liquids, gels and creams are prohibited in your hand carry baggage, except liquid medications, breast milk and formula milk. Make sure you keep all your documents – passport, visa, ticket and ID – in a small travel bag or wallet for easy access. Always make a copy of the first page of your passport and other travel documents and keep them in a separate location to avoid panic when documents are lost or stolen.
* Use online registration – some airlines have the convenience of Internet check-in at least 24 hours before your flight. Printing your boarding pass from your home will reduce your stress big time!
* Arrive early at the airport – international travel require you to be at the airport at least two hours before the flight, but to make sure it is advised to arrive three hours before. This will save you unforeseen delays, particularly during peak periods. It is always better to prevent than to cure.
* Dress well for airport security - remove your jewellery, cellular phones, with loops belts and shoes before going to the airport scanner. To avoid undue delay, simply dress shirts and pants and wear slip-on shoes.
Always keep in mind that travel, particularly international, are normally stressful even if it’s a pleasure trip. It’s up to you to avoid stress and maximize pleasure. Enjoy!
